I recently discovered The Siculiana Beatles Cover Band. Here is another great tune called Back in the U.S.S.R. It's one of my favorite Beatles songs.

Come Together [The Beatles] - The Siculiana Beatles Cover Band

This blew me away! I loved it! At first I was a little hesitant because of all the horrible Beatles cover bands out there. But The Siculiana Beatles Cover Band is creative enough to pull this off. The guitarist was my favorite part. I'll probably be including more of their covers in the future.

This is one of the best covers on YouTube right now. And I can say that with at least some credibility since I watch several a day. Enjoy. And watch it more than once, because that's what it takes to take in the awesomeness.

Stockholm Syndrome [Muse] - Harvey Drive [Featuring Blake Scott]

Holy macaroni! How old is this drummer!? He's awesome! The band does a great job with this song and that kid can rock it on the drums! Gotta love it! He didn't spell the name of the song right on youtube, but I absolve him.

Hava Nagila [Traditional] - Me First And The Gimme Gimmes

From Jonny's Bar Mitzvah. This is what I love about these guys. Simple as that...

Blood & Wine [Dustin Kensrue] - Grindian

Dustin Kensrue of Thrice has released some great music along these lines. Here we have a nice take on Blood & Wine from Grindian.

Baby, It's Cold Outside [Frank Loesser] - Orestes

This is an amazing loop version of the song. He plays the accompanying chords first and follows it by the first melodic line, and finishes off with the duet line! It's very well done with an outstanding guitar tone. Happy holidays, and thanks Orestes!

The Blower's Daughter [Damien Rice] - unbelievers2 & James Brooks

A nice instrumental version of the song. It's good for the background while you grind out your Monday.

Undone (The Sweater Song) [Weezer] - Ben Kweller

Weezer fans and Ben Kweller fans unite! The Sweater Song is a grunge classic and it is always nice to hear Ben Kweller play the grunge classics. This appears to have been performed at an Elementary School fund raiser. Way to go Kweller!

The Rain Song [Led Zeppelin] - arao2

We saw arao2 play Use of Time and we didn't see his face then either. But the point is the guitar playing in this one. It's the instrumental part of The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin. This is a beautiful song and he plays it well. Makes me want to learn it actually. If you stop to think about it, you can hear how it was inspired by rain.

Killing In The Name [Rage Against The Machine] - MrGSpot3

Hands down the most original and unusual cover version so far on this site! A jazz piano version of Killing In The Name...who would have guessed!? Besides Dave Brubeck...he might have guessed.

Baby, It's Cold Outside [Frank Loesser] - Zooey Deschanel & Will Ferrell

In the spirit of Christmas (although this is not specifically a Christmas song) I thought it would be fun to show this little clip from Elf with a nice little treatment of Baby, It's Cold Outside sung by Zooey Deschanel & Will Ferrell. I love Zooey's voice and wish that she had more music available, although I want to get the She & Him album she recently released.

Hopelessly Devoted To You [Olivia Newton John] - Kristin Rian

Kristin Rian has a beautiful voice and this is a classic song. She does a wonderful job! It's a good recording too, which always helps.

Karma Police [Radiohead] - Raoul Le Pennec

This really blew me away! I loved it! This guy has a great voice and the piano part was really interesting! I can't even stop using exclamation points! Of course, I always admired this song anyway, but this version made me happy. Plus, it's kind of a Christmas-y video with the lights in the foreground. If you only listen to/watch one video from this blog this week, this is the one.

ortoPilot has a distinct style of doing cover songs. I enjoyed this one. He was recently featured in a concert for "Youtube's Finest."

These guys are pros.

Rocky Raccoon [The Beatles] - Grindian

This song is really awesome and he makes it work for solo acoustic! Impressive, right? I thought so too. A nice way to end a 3 1/2 hour accounting test.

Volcano [Damien Rice] - Raoul & Rian

This was outstanding! I loved it! Very very good performance. Perfect harmonies and great playing!

The Crowing [Coheed And Cambria] - This Conviction

Straight outta Canada, here we have an extremely convincing performance from Canadian duo This Conviction. Apparently this was a warm-up that they did backstage before a performance. Thanks for sharing it with the youtube-verse!

The Artist In The Ambulance [Thrice] - BionicPianoMan

The BionicPianoMan is quickly becoming my favorite for this blog. He puts out a lot of great cover songs! This video was done in a very unusual way (with the dim light from the window behind the PianoMan). Please listen and enjoy!

Delicate [Damien Rice] - seakins2 (Steve)

Here is a very true-to-the-original cover version of this song. The climax to the song is a pleasant surprise as Steve here gets the high notes with precision! If you're not familiar with Damien Rice or this song, with a surety you should check it out!

The Whaler [Thrice] - Grindian

This was nice. I enjoyed the acoustic version. The mysterious backing vocalist (off-camera) does a good job too!

Red Barchetta [Rush] - Jorge Felipe Montaldo & Mauricio Molina

I always loved this song. These guys do a great job. The harmonics throughout this song were my first introduction to the concept. It's good to see a singer willing to wear a hood and get really involved in the performance!

Hyperballad [Bjork] - Glausterball (Joey)

A while ago I posted a Hyperballad cover that was done with a keyboard and a wonderful female vocalist. Today I am happy to be sharing this amazing acoustic version with a great male singer! My advice to you is to watch this entire video. It gets better and better exponentially as the song progresses.

Music Box [Thrice] - BionicPianoMan

Amazing! The BionicPianoMan's best work yet! If you like Thrice, the Piano, or awesome music, then you'll die over this one! Those of you who don't know the song should be thoroughly convinced to listen to the original after watching this.

Falling [Ben Kweller] - Jonathan Chan

This one surprised me. I saw the kitchen backdrop and thought: "looks like he's ready to cook up a mediocre performance." But, I really liked it! He has a good voice and I actually love his look. It is an overall great performance and, of course, an excellent song!

Use Of Time [311] - arao2

I've always loved this song. I'm glad I came across this cover version. The guitar part is simple, but lovely. His voice is good, and has the added pleasure of guessing what his face looks like. Judging from the rest of the video, I would guess it is a violent shade of neon green, but I could be wrong. Thanks for playing arao2!

I liked this. The piano part is pretty simple, and his voice is somewhat unique. Somewhere in there I hear some harmonies, and I'm not sure where they come from. Maybe you guys can tell me.

YYZ [Rush] - Band Of Kevins

So, this guy is pretty cool. He plays all the different parts of this tune separately and edits them all into the same video. He does a pretty great job too. Some of the song structure and guitar solos are not true to the original, but I'll look beyond that in light of the fact that he's created an army of clones to be his bandmates.

Time Is Running Out [Muse] - ortoPilot

Definitely the best cover I've heard of this song. This guy is awesome! He's got original stuff too, which will eventually pop up on here. If you like MUSE and you like MUSic then you MUSt listen.

These guys are amazing! They sound just like Rush. A completely excellent job! You can see more from this artist here.

Hyperballad [Bjork] - Maquinal

If you can't tell, I love Bjork. I'm posting this Bjork cover mostly on the merit of the singer. To me that's the most important part of doing a Bjork song. The keyboard (harp) is nice though. It kinda Medieval-izes the song.

Wow! I would have never thought this song could work so well acoustic. It is all instrumental. They handle the dynamics well and the solo (which is one of my favorites of all-time) was masterfully done! If you are at all a Rush fan, you need to watch this.

Who Put The Bomp (In The Bomp, Bomp, Bomp) [Barry Mann] - Me First And The Gimme Gimmes

These guys are awesome. The best cover band of all time. Check them out.

The Widow [The Mars Volta] - BionicPianoMan (Kyle)

This is an amazing instrumental version on the keyboard ("jazz organ" sound). Really, you'll like this. Especially if you know the song--fantastic melody!

The faceless girl in the video has a beautiful voice and displays it on this excellent song. Sure, sure, the video placement may not have been perfect, but perk your ears for this pretty piece of music!
